1. Filter on your phone
Mera SMS looks for business payment messages with an amount. It filters out phone-number senders, detected codes, spam, and promotional senders.
MERA SMS + MERA KHARCHA
Mera SMS finds the payment. Mera Kharcha tracks it.
Use the same Google account
and turn on auto-tracking.
THE SETUP
You do not need your bank password, card PIN, or a banking OTP.
Need a hand?WHAT HAPPENS BEHIND THE SCENES
Mera SMS looks for business payment messages with an amount. It filters out phone-number senders, detected codes, spam, and promotional senders.
With your consent, sender, message text, and time are sent over HTTPS to our server. The server checks the payment and stores it in your account.
Choose which payments to add. Imported expenses show that they came from SMS, the source phone, and the original message.
A supported bank sends “Your card was charged $42.50 at a grocery store.” Mera SMS can send that eligible alert to our server. Mera Kharcha then shows a payment to review. The format must be supported; this example is not a promise of support for every bank or currency.
Sync is scheduled about every three hours when online. Android can delay background work. Tap Sync now in Mera SMS when you want to check sooner.
Open the message to check the details. Select individual payments or Select all. Cancel leaves them waiting. Turn review off in Mera Kharcha only if you want future imports added directly.
Open Profile → Auto-track payments in Mera Kharcha. Rename a phone, pause it, or remove it. Removing a phone stops its imports; it does not erase its past expenses.
FAQ
Installation alone does not connect them. Check that both show the same Google email, Mera SMS is your default SMS app, Auto-track payments is on, and you accepted the disclosure. Connect to the internet, tap Sync now in Mera SMS, then open Mera Kharcha to review waiting payments.
Payments belong to the account signed in to Mera SMS. Sign in to both apps with the same Google email before enabling sync. Switching accounts does not transfer payments already imported into another account.
No. Detection depends on an eligible SMS arriving and on its sender, amount, wording, and supported format. Personal messages, verification codes, and messages identified as spam or promotional are filtered out. Cash payments and unsupported messages need manual entry. Review imported amounts and categories for mistakes.
There is an initial sync when you enable it, then a background job scheduled about every three hours while online. Android’s battery and background restrictions can delay it. You can also tap Sync now. It is not a live bank connection.
When you confirm the review, selected payments are added and unselected payments are discarded. Their message text is removed, while a record is kept to prevent importing them again. Cancel closes the review without deciding; the payments remain waiting.
Yes. In Mera Kharcha, open Profile → Auto-track payments and turn off “Check payments before adding.” Future imports can then be added directly. Check your records regularly for detection mistakes.
Yes. Turn Auto-track off in Mera SMS, or manage phones in Mera Kharcha under Profile → Auto-track payments. You can rename, pause, or remove a phone. Signing out of Mera SMS also stops sending from that phone. Already imported expenses remain until you delete them. If you set up a removed phone again, it comes back as the same phone. Reinstalling Mera SMS doesn’t add your phone twice.
Check that both apps are up to date. Availability can be controlled by the service, so the setting may be temporarily unavailable. If it is still missing, contact support. You can continue adding expenses manually.
